Purpose of the Division of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology

The division is concerned with a broad range of areas from fundamental studies of nuclei and the chemical properties of radioactive elements to practical applications of radioactivity and nuclear technology. Additionally, it is concerned with matters of special significance that range from the training of future nuclear and radiochemists to issues such as environmental pollution and radioactive waste disposal. The use of radioactivity and nuclear techniques has expanded greatly over the last several decades in all branches of science, so the interests of the division membership cover a broad spectrum of scientific and technical areas within the ACS.

Membership in the division is open to any ACS member and to non-ACS members as Division Affiliates.
