NASA Student Internships

General Information ![]() The SCSGC may provide support for qualified students to participate in various research and internship programs offered by NASA's Centers, such as: the NASA Academy programs, The Undergraduate Research Program (USRP) at Langley, Langley's LARSS program, ESMD programs, JPL Internships or independent research projects at NASA Centers. These programs enable undergraduate students to work for 10 weeks on-site at a NASA Center with a mentor. The programs are designed for technically oriented students with an interest in gaining knowledge, awareness and a greater appreciation for research activities and its affects in the real world. These internship supplements will be used to support a student's work and/or to supplement travel expenses to a NASA Center. The amount of the student stipend award depends upon the program for which the student is accepted. The actual stipend amounts are determined by each program and Center. Application Requirements Please be aware that in order to receive funding, you MUST apply for the NASA internship through them as well as apply for funding through the SC Space Grant!

While students who receive support through the National Space Grant Program do not incur any formal obligations to the government of the United States, the objectives of the program clearly will be best served if graduates from the program pursue further study or careers in science, technology, and engineering fields and support areas. *As required by NASA, all awardees will be tracked through their first year of employment.
